DONT MISS IT! Winning bidder to pay $35 shipping plus $1.00 per $100 bid price for insurance. It is IMPOSSIBLE to find these horns any more. Valves are excellent and show little wear. Original lacquer is about 75% present with minor wear here and there. Their gigantic 5 1/8 inch nickel silver bell makes for a trumpet that is both very responsive and big sounded at the same time. more their huge sound and ease of flexibility. These trumpets were made famous by the Maynard Ferguson band in the 50s. This is a VERY NICE Conn 38 B Connstellation trumpet. Auction sets the price and High Bidder wins it! Europe should plan to pay about $75 for shipping- australia about $95. Your chance to buy an increasingly rare piece of trumpet history to cherish and to play I will ship to the lower 48 states well packed and insured for $35 and elsewhere by US Postal servcie for actual cost. Comes with a generic case with one corner damaged- I would propbably treat the horn to a new case- it deserves it! and a gold plated Connstellation 7B-N mouthpiece. Interesting enclosed spring valves are smooth and fast and the slides produce a nice compression pop when pulled against the valves. This one is in very nice shape- Lacquer is in overall good condition- It is better than 95% and any dents in its past have been professionally removed. You can tell it is different with the combination of nickle plated silver and yellow brass trim. The lightweight build of the 36B made it an easier horn to play all night. While the.438 bores were easier to keep supplied with air, they produced a sound that was much more comparable to the medium large bores of other brands. They were also making trumpets that the jazzers in particular were finding wonderful alternatives to the Bach Strads. While they were making my trombones- I have an Elkhart 88H as well. They made instruments that felt great to play and sounded even better. I think the people in Elkhart in the 60's simply had it right. Invariably I will sit down and compare them to my Connstellation and it always comes up holding its own. I have been fortunate enough to own some really great vintage and modern jazz trombones over the years. more 1969 I am a trombonist and have owned an Elkhart Connstellation trombone for the last 20 years.
